ARISTOTLE UNIVERSITY OF THESSALONIKI (AUTH)

 

Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) is the biggest university in Greece. Named after the ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle, AUTH was founded originally in 1926. Located in the center of Thessaloniki, its Campus covers 430.000 m2 and has some 90.000 under- and post-graduate students and 4000 teaching and administrative staff members. Highly recognized internationally, participates in more than 35 international academic associations, and has collaboration contracts with more than 1400Universities worldwide.

DEMOCRITUS UNIVERSITY OF THRACE (DUTH)

 

Democritus University of Thrace (D.U.Th.) was founded in 1973 and has, since its foundation, been the first Greek regional multi-campus university that not only solely served purely educational objectives. The University is classified amongst the biggest Greek Universities in terms of the number of its active student population (29,000) Geographically dispersed throughout Thrace, with 8 Schools, 20 Departments and a wide variety of Postgraduate Program and with a research and teaching staff that exceeds 700 people, the university still is the only academic institution in the Administrative Region of East Macedonia & Thrace.
